Westmoreland was another holding of the Ladd
Estate Company. It was platted in May of 1909 and is literally on the
"other side of the tracks" from Westmoreland. The Southern Pacific
Railroad divides the two neighborhoods. Westmoreland is a pleasant
neighborhood of smaller homes laid out in a conventional rectangular grid.
The neighborhood has a beautiful park, Westmoreland Park, which boasts
baseball fields, lawn bowling, a children's playground, as well as a
casting pond. The neighborhood also has several award winning restaurants,
several coffee houses, antique stores and gift shops.
Approximate boundaries The Willamette River on
the West, Tacoma Street on the south, SE Reedway cm the South, and
McLoughlin Blvd on the West.
